You probably already know that the construction market in this area is tight-knit and well-connected. Relationship-building and integrity are essential here. Our top salespeople are tremendous relationship builders and take a consultative approach to their customers. They are go-getters who are reliable, honest, available, and persistent, with excellent follow-up/follow-through skills. You will need strong drive, a sense of ownership and the ability to achieve goals independently. At the same time, we'll look to you to be a team player, willing to support the Branch Manager and help other sales team members.

Gaining product knowledge and understanding the application of the products will be key to your success. Your construction background will be invaluable, but you'll also need a strong learning acumen and a commitment to getting up to speed quickly. Some products are rarely used, so when you have the opportunity -- in the beginning and ongoing -- to see a presentation, you'll need to take advantage of it.

You should expect to spend time at construction sites, rain or shine, not only to call on prospects but also to demonstrate equipment. This will include wearing boots and a hard hat, and you can't be afraid to get them dirty. You should bring a strong commitment to safety.
